How do I tell you about what parts of my building/property/belongings were damaged?

Inside our Online Claims platform, when you are doing a Home claim online, you will be asked to tell us what was damaged. Follow these easy steps to add damaged items to your claim:

  1. Click on the ADD ITEM button to add the damaged items to your claim.

  1. Depending on your cover and the incident that took place, you will be able to choose to add Specified, building and contents items.
  • Select SPECIFIED ITEMS to choose the items listed on your insurance policy
  • Select BUILDING ITEM to add a building/property item that was damaged during the incident
  • Select CONTENTS ITEM to add a belonging that was damaged during the incident

Adding a Specified Item to my claim

Click on the Specified Items tab to add a specified item to your claim. Choose the items that were damaged and click on ADD ITEMS to add them to your claim.

Adding a Building Item to my claim

Click on the Building Item tab to add a building item to your claim. In order to add a damaged building item to your claim, you will need to tell us: whether the damage was inside or outside, what room was damaged, which item was damaged and provide more information about the item. You can also provide more information about the item such as model, colour and item description.

Adding a Content Item to my claim

Click on the Contents item tab to add a content item to your claim. In order to add a damaged content item to your claim, you will need to tell us what item was damaged and provide more information about the item. You can also provide more information about the item such as make, model, colour and item description.

What to do if the type of item damaged is not listed?

While adding an item, if you see that you can't find the item type from the item damaged list, select 'Other' as an item damaged type and provide us with as much information as you can regarding the item in the More information about the item field.

Where can I view the added items?

After you have added damaged items to your claim, they will be displayed in a list view on the page where you will able to either edit or remove them.
