When you lodge a home insurance claim online, we’ll ask for details about what was damaged. Just follow these steps:
Click “Add item” to add the damaged items to your claim.
Depending on your cover and the incident, you may be able to add more items:
· Select “Specified items” to choose damaged items listed on your policy.
· Select “Building item” to add a damaged building/property.
· Select “Contents item” to add a damaged belonging.
How to add a Specified Item
Click the “Specified Items” tab, choose the items that were damaged and click “Add items” to add them to your claim.
How to add a Building Item or Contents Item
Click the “Building Item” or “Contents Item” tab. You can then provide more detail, like:
· Whether the damage is inside or outside
· What room was damaged
· What item was damaged (including extra information about the item)
· Additional information including model, colour and item descriptions
What to do if the type of item is not listed
If you can’t find the item type in the list, select “Other” and provide as much information about the item as you can.
Where to view added items
After you’ve added damaged items, they will be displayed in a list on the page. You can then edit or remove them.
